Five, six, seven … years – and …

we are able to fulfil the heavy demands on ourselves in making “books à la carte”, Hans Magnus Enzensberger wishes for.

These first years – this was an exciting period of time, seldom an easy one, often risky – but that was to be expected! The results surely aren’t half bad, even if not all dreams came true, if several trends were set surprisingly, as for example the one towards the printing of deeds and facsimile-editions which more and more became an important focal point of the publisher’s list and have an outward effect.
The profile with focus at Southeast Europe is extended and shall get stronger Eastern European dimensions in future. We take the first groping steps in the field of non-fiction books, and soon we will offer e-books.

Many thanks we say to our authors for the always very profound and professional
co-operation, the booksellers for their efforts in spreading our books, and –
of course – our readers for their loyalty and favour.

Therefore, we look ahead optimistically, even if – or because –

… it holds good: “Anachronism is alive!”
